Francisco Pizarro was born on about 1475. He was born in the poorest part of Spain, which was Trujillo. So will he lived in poorness he helped with the farm. As his parents were never married he went and lived with his grandmother, and his step brother. As they never got married there were also myths about when he was born. These myths were that he was left in a pig stall and suckled a mother pig to get milk. Another one was that he was left on the church step, which is the popular or well known. But neither can be true because then he wouldn’t be living with his Grandmother and stepbrother. Also he went to Italy where he improved his diplomacy skills and where he matured.
Pizarro was inspired by Hernando Cortés and his defeat over the great Aztec empire. Pizarro, like Cortés, wanted fame, glory, and fortune by coming to the New World. Pizarro didn’t really take any trips. Instead he moved to one of the first Spanish colonies which was back then Hispaniola and now Dominican Republic and Haiti. This is where he spent the next seven years of his life. So one day Alonso de Ojeda wanted to start a new colony in Colombia. Unfortunately it was doomed. Then they found out about the Inca’s. Then his other obvious voyage was to go to the Inca’s.
These trips were in fact very harsh. This is because in the trip to Colombia resulted in the total lose of men including Alonso de Ojeda. Then while he was passing the mountains many of men died. They died mostly of diseases and starvation. Also there armor was ruined because of the tropical heat that they also passed through. While they were at the coast they were ok. Then while they where going on the coast disaster struck. One of his ships sunk. So they went to the coast with the survivors. Then when he reached the Inca’s he was invaded by there large Inca amy.
Well while searching they had randomly found the Paific Ocean. They had found the Inca’s if course with the help of Vasco Nunez De Balboa. There he was defeated by an army. But then he came back and won. As a result he found or was bribed by the leader, which is Atahualpa. The bribe was a huge room of gold and silver. Pizarro once again landed in the coasts near Ecuador, where some gold, silver, and emeralds were procured. Then he went to Lima. In Lima he was murdered.
So really he never did make it back. So he wasn’t rewarded. He wasn’t knighted. Instead he was put in a grave. But In the early 1930s, sculptor Ramsey MacDonald created three copies of an anonymous European foot soldier resembling a conquistador with a helmet, wielding sword and riding a horse, which was Pizarro.
